KNP – kultura natura pARTicip – is an association working to increase and improve people’s participation in culture, art and science, and tackling social inclusion and environmental protection It is founded in 2004 as Acces, renamed in 2025 as kultura natura pARTicip.

We gathered at KNP to work in contemporary arts and literature, research and valorization of cultural heritage, citizen science, participatory social design and radical inclusion of disadvantaged groups. We are also active in the fields of ecology, nature protection, renewable energy, zero waste and environmentally sustainable transport and urban mobility.

We treat and promote culture, art and nature as public goods and as forces of democratization. In our academic and activist work, we also tackle difficult, but important topics such as accessibility and affordability of cultural content, working conditions and employment in cultural sector, decolonization of cultural institutions and societies, feminist perspectives, extractivism and many other.

Both in Romania and internationally, our association and its members cooperate with an extensive network of museums and heritage institutions, collectives, organizations and public institutions working in the cultural field, environmental protection, science and education.

We strive to seamlessly integrate culture, arts and nature into the everyday life of people, to nurture creativity and to build a society based on equity, mutual respect and care, cooperation as well as care for the environment.
